What this is

The Product Idea Validator is a browser-based assessment for founders deciding whether an idea deserves more investment. It asks about the problem, customer pain, market, validation, timing, founder advantage, and business model, then returns a scored recommendation.

The core implementation landed between March 11 and March 13, inside the seven-day prototype window. Later changes moved and restyled the resource without changing its original test.

The friction

An early product conversation can produce a detailed feature list before anyone tests whether the problem has urgency, a reachable customer, or evidence of willingness to pay.

A written checklist helps, but it lets a reader skip the questions that challenge the idea. A consulting call creates more accountability but requires time from both sides before the founder knows whether the concept deserves that attention.

The prototype tested one question: can a guided self-assessment expose the weakest part of an idea and give the founder a useful next action?

The senior decision

We built the decision path before building a broader product.

The assessment uses a fixed set of questions and weighted answers. Each question includes a benchmark and an explanation of the signal it tests. The result groups the score into a small number of recommendations rather than pretending to calculate market success.

The prototype runs in the browser. It does not require an account, save a founder’s idea, or introduce a backend before the interaction itself earns further investment.

What became real

The live tool guides a founder through problem clarity, current workarounds, customer conversations, payment signals, market timing, and execution advantage. It calculates a result and offers a next step based on the combined score.

The page also connects the self-service assessment to deeper planning help for readers who need a second opinion or a build sequence.

Evidence

The Product Idea Validator is live and usable without registration. Repository history shows the initial implementation on March 11 and follow-up runtime corrections by March 13.

The artifact proves that the guided interaction exists. Its score does not predict company outcomes, so the page presents the result as an assessment rather than a forecast.

What we learned

A prototype can test the shape of a decision without building the system that might surround it. The browser-only implementation produced the complete user flow without adding accounts, stored submissions, or backend operations.

Assessment language needs restraint. A useful result identifies missing evidence and a next action. It should not convert ten answers into false certainty about a market.

Current state

The prototype is live as a free resource. Its current role is to help founders structure an early decision and to test whether the interaction leads to better planning conversations.
